Fabric First Events in England
Following five successful Fabric First events in Scotland in 2012 and the successful event held at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham on the 27th February, Val-U-Therm has sponsored three more of the sustainable building seminars in England.
“We had a great response to the events we supported in 2012,” says Val-U-Therm’s Managing Director Bryan Woodley. “We’re really excited to be playing the same role for the next series of meetings that will take place south of the border.”
Val-U-Therm is taking a high-profile role by both exhibiting and providing a speaker at the following events:
Fabric First and Lean Construction Conference on Wednesday 12th June 2013 at the CUBE in Manchester
Fabric First Conference on Thursday 11th July 2013 at the Institution of Structural Engineers in London
Fabric First Conference on Tuesday 24th September 2013 at the Timber Expo at the NEC in Birmingham
These Fabric First Events are a series of conferences organised by the UK Timber Frame Association (launched as the Structural Timber Association on the 24th September).
“Overall, the events highlight the benefits of using a fabric first approach, with timber frame as the core fabric of a building, to achieve requirements ranging from meeting Building Regulations, through higher levels of the Code for Sustainable Homes, to PassivHaus,” explains Bryan Woodley, Managing Director of Val-U-Therm Ltd, “For us, they are an opportunity to highlight the exceptional performance of our closed-panel building system.”
At the seminars Woodley is discussing a series of Val-U-Therm case studies. These highlight the space heating costs of various Fabric First solutions, show how Val-U-Therm and the Fabric First approach can be used for volume construction projects and give cost comparisons between Val-U-Therm and renewables solutions. Woodley also runs through interesting performance data from the first PassivHaus for the affordable housing market.
To back-up the Fabric First message Val-U-Therm continues to also organise a series of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events for architects, engineers and construction professionals around the UK. Val-U-Therm can provide these seminars in a client’s offices if required.
